    Boasting a superior goal difference to 3rd placed Tsubasa FC, Whinning 11 were 80 mins away from finishing their inaugural season with honours. Their opponents unfortunately, were second placed Stallions Utd who were coming off a 7-0 victory over Tsubasa FC. The match was played at a blistering pace at the Cage Sports Park with Stallions Utd coming away 4-1 winners. The win means that Stallions Utd finish the season with 31 points, two behind league champions Armanis FC. Whinning 11 on the other hand, finishes the season in 4th spot, two points behind Tsubasa FC having garnered only one point from their last two fixtures.

    Stallions Utd ended their season in style beating third placed Tsubasa FC 7-0 at West Spring Secondary. Having lost the Division 3 title last week following a 2-2 draw with USSR Utd, the home side looked possessed the moment the match kicked off and went into the break with a comfortable 4-0 lead thanks to fine efforts by Muhammad Rasul, Syafiq Hassan(2) and Muhammad Ibrahim. Two goals from Nur Adli aka Eddielee in the second half coupled with a scorcher from Ibrahim saw the Stallions come away 7-0 winners. The result sees Tsubasa end the season with 26 points, two ahead of Whinning 11 who have a superior goal difference and a game in hand.

  • Week 17: From Russia with Love. Bugra Inceler bags Top Scorer Award as Armanis win Div 3 title!

    Stallions Utd, who were on course for the Sunday Premier League Division 3 title lost the battle this week following a gut wrenching 2-2 draw against USSR Utd at the Khalsa Premier Pitch. Everything looked on track for the Stallions when Man of the Match Eddy Sophian gave the away side a comfortable 2-0 lead going into the break with goals in the 5th and 9th min of play. Onlookers would argue that complacency set into the away side in the second half with the Russians desperate for a goal. Up stepped Man of the Match Bugra Inceler, who not only knocked home two goals within a span of ten mins but also bagged the top-scorer award at the same time.

    Whinning 11 saw their hopes of finishing third hit a stumbling block when they were held to a goalless draw at the Cage Sports Park by Stallionz FC. The draw sees the home side relegated to Division 4 after finishing 6th in the league standings. As for Whinning 11, they now have to beat second placed Stallions Utd in their last fixture in order to finish third.

  • Week 16: Stallions hit stumbling block in quest for the title!

    Celebrations could be heard at the Armanis camp following Stallions Utd’s 3-1 shock loss to an in-form Whinning 11 side at West Spring Secondary. The loss means that Stallions Utd must now win two of their remaining three fixtures against Tsubasa FC, USSR Utd and also an away leg match-up against Whinning 11. As for the away side, the win brings them one step closer to finishing with honours with only two scheduled matches left to play.

    Over at Bedok South Secondary, a clearance by Captain Marvel Abhikesh Rai saw USSR Utd take a 1-0 lead in the 12th min against comeback kings Maestro FC when the opposing goalkeeper misjudged the height of the ball which bounced in front of him. This, coupled with two goals by leading Div 3 top goal-scorer Bugra Inceler and a fine effort by Vitaliy Beletskiy saw the Russians come away 4-3 winners in a match which could have gone either way.

    Tsubasa FC stayed on course to finish third in the league standings with a hard fought 2-1 win over Stallionz FC at the Khalsa Premier Pitch. Wai Leong gave the home side the lead in the 11th min when he headed home a well weighed cross from team-mate Shiaw Long. HT 1-0. Man of the Match, Ganesh brought Stallionz FC back into the game when he deservedly equalized for his side knocking in a re-bound from close range two mins into the second half. Shiaw Leong then took matters into his own hands flicking home the winner over the opposing goalkeeper in the 54th min. Stallionz FC will face Whinning 11 in their final game of the season next week.

    Tsubasa FC vs. USSR Utd promised to be a feisty encounter and it didn’t disappoint. Fireworks could be seen the last time these two sides met with Tsubasa coming out 2-1 winners. It was no different this time round with both sides refusing to give up possession of the ball the second the match kicked off. A defensive mix-up in the Russian half led to a clearance which bounced off a Tsubasa player into goal in the 22nd min. HT 1-0. Wai Leong made it 2-0 to the home side in the 67th min before Lixing’s clinical effort from close range saw Tsubasa take a shock 3-0 lead in the 74th min. Wai Leong then sealed the nail in the coffin a min before the final whistle when he finished off a well executed counter attack.
    Final Score: Tsubasa FC 4 USSR Utd 0.

    Whinning 11 kept their hopes of challenging for honours alive with a fine display which saw them beat comeback kings, Maestro FC 2-0 at Bedok South Secondary. Rixian gave the away side the lead in the 19th min when he cooly put away his chance after he was presented with a one-on-one opportunity with the opposing goalkeeper. Eugene then scored what proved to be the winner with a well taken penalty eight mins before half-time.

    Stallions Utd did the double over Stallionz Utd with a 3-1 win at Bedok South Secondary after having beaten their rivals 4-1 win earlier this season. The win sees the home side on course for the Division 3 title with four matches left to play. A shot from outside the penalty box saw Man of the match, Muhammad Ismail give Stallions a 1-0 lead in the 2nd min before the away side deservedly equalized through Deen’s well placed header in the 26th min. Yeo Han Joo then made it 2-1 to the home side just two mins later with a clinical finish from inside the penalty box. He then sealed the game for the Stallions with a well taken shot into the bottom right hand corner of goal sixteen mins into the second half.

    Tsubasa FC bounced back from their 3-0 loss to Armanis with a gut wrenching performance which saw them beat Stallionz FC 3-2 at the Khalsa Premier Pitch. A close range effort by Rayan in the 12th min coupled with Wai Leong’s long range screamer in the 29th min saw Tsubasa go into the break with a comfortable 2-0 lead. Miscommunication at the back lead to Stallionz FC pulling a goal back through Rizuan in the 52nd min . Yang Lixing however sealed the nail in the coffin in the 61st min when he tapped in a rebound after an initial saved was saved by the opposing goalkeeper. The win sees Tsubasa FC once again move up to second in the league rankings with three matches left to play.

    Armanis FC completed the double over Maestro FC beating the comeback kings 4-1 at the Khalsa Premier Pitch. Sunny gave the home side the lead in the 14th min before Augustine Zhou fired Maestro level with a cool finish from close range in the 24th min. Sangeeth however, restored sides lead a min before the break latching onto a brilliant through ball before placing it past the keeper. HT 2-1. Armanis had to wait till the 72nd min to get their third courtesy of Jeff’s fine effort from outside the penalty box. He then sealed the game for his side just four mins later when he skilfully turned his defender and blasted the ball into goal from close range following a throw in.

  • Week 13: Russians return fire in six goal thriller!

    Stallionz Utd kept their hopes of staying up in Division three alive with a gut wrenching performance against USSR Utd at the Khalsa Premier Pitch. A quickly taken free kick which caught the opposing goalkeeper by surprise in the 11th min of play saw Stallionz take a 1-0 lead. It was 2-0 just eight mins later when Pathma Ganesh taped the ball into the back of the net from close range. Hat-trick hero Bugra Inceler, who is second in the top goal-scorer rankings, then pulled a goal back in the 21st min, heading home a long ball that had been played to him. A clinical finish from close range saw Pathma Ganesh bag his second of the game to give Stallionz Utd a shock 3-1 lead going into the break. HT 3-1. The second half belonged to the Russians as they fired their way back into the game with Bugra dramatically scoring the equalizer in the 55th min when he connected his diving header to an in-swinging corner kick.

    Armanis FC inflicted sweet revenge on league rivals Tsubasa beating them 3-0 in a match which they dominated from start to finish. Having lost 4-2 in their previous encounter which proved to be a feisty affair, it was no surprise when Armanis were brought down to ten men as early as the 29thmin when Del received his marching orders. That was not before Teren gave his side the lead in the very first min of play when he skilfully placed the ball past the opposing goalkeeper from close range. Dev then made it 2-0 in the 35th min when he finished off a well worked move with a simple tap in. HT 2-0. Arvin’s rocket from 30 yards out in the 56th min sealed all three points for his side who now enjoy a nine point lead over second placed Stallions Utd.

    Not even current league top-goalscorer Xu Rong An could stop Armanis from garnering their eight win of the season which sees them open up a massive nine point lead in the league standings. Maestro’s star striker opened the scoring as early as the first min of the match before Armanis pulled even eleven mins later through Harpal ‘Herpes’ Singh. The score-line at half-time however read 4-2 in favour of Armanis with Parwinderjit , Gurdev and Man of the Match, Teren ‘Sheilakijawani’ Singh finding the back of the net. Despite Maestro’s best efforts to get back into the game, it was Armanis who further extended their lead through Teren in the 63rd min with a clinical finish from close range. The result sees Maestro FC edge a step closer to relegation with only three matches left to play.

    Whinning 11 were denied the chance to move into medal contention when they were held 1-1 by Maestro FC at Coral Secondary. Both teams created an equal amount of chances in the first half but failed to find the back of the net time and again. HT 0-0. Kartik finally broke the duct in the 57th min when he clinically put away his chance only for Whinning 11 to draw even just four mins later. The draw sees Maestro FC slip into the relegation zone with only four matches left to play.

    USSR Utd’s three match win streak came to a crashing halt when they lost 2-1 to Tsubasa FC in a feisty encounter. The match sparked to life in the second half when Benjamin Dumke capitalized on a scramble in the penalty box to give his side the lead. The Russians valiantly held on to their lead right up till the 71st min when Che Fei finished off from close range after some nice build up play. Similar to what happened in their match against Armanis FC, Tsubasa dug deep to find the winner five mins from time through Man of the Match Teo Jiahan who finished off a cross from the right following some fine counter attaching play.

    Armanis FC bounced right back after their shock 4-2 defeat to Tsubasa FC last week beating potential title contenders, Stallions Utd at the Khalsa Premier Pitch. But it was the away side that took the lead in this clash through Sufiyan who finished off a brilliant defence splitting through ball in the 11th min. Man of the Match Jiten Khalo then pulled Armanis even in the 28th min, capitalizing on a loose ball that had been spilled by the opposing keeper. HT 2-1. Safa then scored a brilliant solo effort to bring the score-line to 3-1 before Kumar Balo rocketed his shot into the back of the net from just outside the penalty box in the 68th min. Sonu Singh placed the icing on the cake two mins from time and also made sure that his side avenged their 5-2 loss to Stallions Utd earlier in the season.

    Whinning 11 scored their biggest win of the season when they beat Collabo FC 11-1 at Naval Base Secondary. The score-line means that Collabo FC have now conceded thirty one goals in their last three matches. It took just 10 mins for the home side to find the back of the net through Simon who sent a wicked curler past the outstretched goalkeeper from outside the penalty box. Rixian then made it 2-0 with a powerful shot from 25 yards out in the 13th min before four goal hero Jarvis emulated his effort just four mins later. With the half-time score reading 6-0, Collablo came out of the break with the motive of not conceding more goals. Muhd Shukur’s finesse shot in the 52nd min proved to be the smallest of consolations for Collabo FC who went on to concede five more goals in the second half.

    Over at the Khalsa Premier Pitch, USSR Utd extended their winning streak to three matches with a gut wrenching 2-1 win over Stallionz FC. A solitary goal by Ali in the 36th min saw the Russians go into the break with a slender 1-0 lead. Costa then made it 2-0 in the 49th min before Deen deservedly pulled a goal back for Stallionz FC in the 56th min. Both teams then had an equal amount of chances to find the back of the net in the second half but somehow spurned their chances in front of goal. The win sees the Russians maintain third spot, just two points above fourth placed Whinning 11.

    Sixth placed Tsubasa FC pulled off one of the upsets of the season when they dramatically beat league leaders Armanis FC 4-2 with mins left to play. An own goal in the 20th min saw Tsubasa go 1-0 up before Teren brought Armanis level four mins into the second half. Tsubasa then found themselves 2-1 up in the 60th min when a long range shot was misjudged by the Armanis goalkeeper and somehow managed to find its way into the near post. A cross from the left flank in the 67th min found Teren who scored his second of the game with a beautifully struck half volley to once again pull Armanis even. With the game getting a tad feisty in the final mins of the game, Tsubasa dramatically pulled ahead once again through Wai Long’s free kick which was a carbon copy of Paul Gascoigne’s legendary effort against Arsenal. Chee Fei then added the icing on the cake two mins from time when he cheekily chipped the ball over the opposing goalkeeper from close range to seal all three points for his side.

  • Week 9: Maestro FC’s Xu Rong An equals Record for most goals scored in a match!

    Man of the Match, Xu Rong An, equalled the X-League record (Mohamed Zakaria aka Mido, Oxley City) for the most numbers of goals scored by an individual player when he hit SEVEN past Collabo FC in Maestro’s 14-3 win at East Spring Secondary. The result also represents Maestro FC’s biggest victory in the X-League since its inaugural season back in 2011. Four goals by Rong An coupled with fine efforts by Abhishek Bala, Augustine Zhou, Kartik and Norris Liew saw Maestro FC go into the break with a comfortable 8-2 lead. Collabo FC managed to pull two goals back in the second half but were hit by another six goals courtesy of Abhishek, Kartik, Norris and three from Rong An. The win sees Rong An lead the Div 3 Top Scorer chart with Maestro FC moving up to fourth spot.

    Armanis FC further extended their lead at the top of the league table following a hard fought 2-0 win over Stallionz FC at Marsiling Secondary. The first half was evenly contested with both teams going into half-time tied at 0-0. Armanis came out of the break the hungrier side and deservedly took the lead through Jiten in the 42nd min who was unmarked when he headed home a cross from the left flank. A brilliant through ball down the middle of the pitch saw Kannan beat the Stallionz defence with his blistering pace before ramming the ball past the outstretched goalkeeper to seal all three points for his side. The win sees Armanis open up a six point gap in the league standings over their closest rivals Stallionz Utd who have three games in hand.

  • Week 8: Maestro FC finally get back to winning ways!

    Armanis did the double over third placed Whinning 11 beating them 5-2 at the Khalsa Premier Pitch. Despite taking the lead through Feroz’s amazing long range effort in the 16th not much separated both sides going into the break. HT 1-0. Armanis however opened the floodgates in the second half with Sangeet leading the charge in the 58th min with a well placed penalty. Sonu then made it 3-0 just three mins later when he bulleted a powerful header from a long range throw which was accompanied by a weird stomach hitting celebration much to the delight of onlookers. Whinning 11 managed to pull two goals back in the second half through Wei Kang and Andrew but further goals by Iggy and Kannan sealed all three points for Armanis sending them to the top of the league table.

    Maestro FC finally got back to winning ways after garnering just two points from their last five matches when they beat Tsubasa FC 3-0 at St. Gabriel Secondary. Inspired by the return of Vice-Captain Xu Rong An, who has missed a chunk of games this season due to work commitments, the Bees took just seven mins to find the back of the net when the First XI star chipped the ball over the onrushing keeper. HT 1-0. Kartik then made it 2-0 in the 47th min when he placed his shot past the keeper from close range. It was 3-0 just a min later when Guo Xian rocketed a volley into goal following calls for offside by the Tsubasa defence. The win sees Maestro move up to 6th spot and a step closer to avoiding relegation.

    USSR Utd vs Collabo FC conjured up a 10 goal thriller with the Russians coming up 6-4 winners. Two goals by top goal-scorer Bugra Inceler in the first half gave the Russians a comfortable 2-0 lead going into the break. HT 2-0. Bugra then made it 3-0 with a clinical close range effort before Shaffie pulled a goal back for Collabo beating the Russian goalkeeper at his near post. Just when we thought that Collabo were about to mount a comeback, Bugra sent a 30 yard free-kick past the opposing goalkeeper before Benj made it 5-1 in the 66th min. Captain Marvel Abhikesh Rai then sealed the nail in the coffin with a sweetly struck long range effort that left the keeper no chance the moment the ball left his boot in the 71st min. Complacency then set in for the Russians who conceded three goals in the final mins of the game bringing the final score-line to 6-4.

    Having lost their home leg to Whinning 11 4-0, Tsubasa FC put on a valiant performance to draw 1-1 in their away leg which was played at St Gabriel Secondary. Coming off their shock 2-0 win over league leader Stallions FC, Tsubasa pushed the pace early on in the match but unfortunately failed to find the back of the net. HT 0-0. Whinning 11 came out of the break the hungrier side and took the lead in the form of a 35 yard scorcher from Wei Jun which left the goalkeeper no chance the moment the ball left his boot. Tsubasa had to wait patiently for their chance and it came in the final five mins of the match in the form of Zhen Quan who earned his side a vital point.

    Over at Coral Secondary, Stallions Utd got back to winning ways with a dominant 4-1 win over highly fancied Maestro FC who’ve struggled to find their form this year. It took the home side just 14 mins to finds the back of the net through T. Mogan before league top goalscorer Yeoh Han Joo made it 2-0 just two mins later. Nur Adli aka Eddie clinically put away his effort 7 mins before the break to sum up a miserable first half for the visiting team. HT 3-0. Following an inspiring team talk at half-time, Maestro got their act together in the second half and deservedly pulled a goal back through new signing Mohamad Hairul’s well placed free-kick. Unfortunately for the comeback kings, Man of the Match Yeo Han Joo’s sublime chip over the onrushing goalkeeper in the 69th min proved to be the winner.

    Armanis FC had a great chance to further extend their lead at the top of the Div 3 table when they came up against USSR Utd at the Khalsa Premier Pitch. The tie boasted two major changes for the Russian side that lost 4-2 in the home leg- A swanky new Kit and the return of inspirational Captain Abhikesh Rai who missed the match through suspension. The first half of the match was evenly contested with both sides spurning chances and always threatening on the counter. HT 0-0. A min into the second half, Ali rose above the Armanis defence to head his side into the lead. Down to 10 men in the 68th min, Armanis still pressed on for the equalizer but were denied time and against by a resilient Russian defence. Two mins from the final whistle, USSR Utd’s top goalscorer Bugra Inceler, sealed the game for his side sending his team to fourth spot.

  • Week 6: Stallions Utd suffer shock defeat at the hands of Tsubasa FC!

    Whinning 11 continued their great start of the New Year beating an in form Stallionz FC side 3-1 at St Gabriel Secondary. But it was Stallionz FC that took the lead in this clash courtesy of a 25 yard lob by Ganesh who caught the goalkeeper off his line in the 22nd min. Their lead however was short-lived as Min Seng pulled Whinning 11 level just ten mins later when he clinically slotted his effort past the outstretched keeper following some fine build up play. Rixian then gave his side the lead in the 35th min with a bullet header from an in-swinging corner kick. HT 2-1. Both teams had an equal amount of chances in the second half but it was Whinning 11 that further extended their lead three mins from time. Wei Kang cooly finished off a defence splitting pass from Javis to seal all three points for his side.

    Undefeated Stallions Utd, who seemed to be cruising towards the league title, suffered their first loss of the season at the hands of Tsubasa FC. Rafie Ng gave Tsubasa the lead in the 17th min when he showcased his predatory instincts by reacting quickly to head home a rebound that was saved by the opposing goalkeeper from close range. HT 1-0. Stallions were unlucky to find themselves 2-0 down in the 60th min when Man of the Match, Teo Jiahan’s cross ended up in the back of the net. We’re not sure if he meant so score but ‘hey’, when you’re playing a team that’s undefeated, you take what you get. The win sees Tsubasa climb the table to fourth spot.

  • Week 5: Stallionz FC garner first win of the season in emphatic fashion!

    Stallionz FC garnered their first win of the season beating Maestro FC 5-1 at the Khalsa Premier Pitch. Vicky opened the scoring in this tie, tapping in an indirect free kick in the 24th min. Deen then made it 2-0 just five mins later when he headed an in-swinging corner past the outstretched goalkeeper. A sweetly struck free kick by Rijuan with his left foot then gave Stallionz a shock 3-0 lead in the 33rd min. Five mins before half-time, Deen scored his second of the match a dazzling ‘V.Sundramoorthy like’ solo effort in which he dribbled two defenders before ramming the ball into goal. HT 4-0. The comeback kings, Maestro FC, then came out of the break all guns blazing and deservedly scored an indirect free-kick through Gerald in the 50th min. The Stallionz however dug deep and sealed the game in the 67th min through Ganesh who fired home a trademark free-kick from thirty yards out.

    Armanis FC regained top spot in the league table with a hard fought 4-2 win over USSR Utd. Satnam Gill’s well placed shot from just outside the penalty box gave Armanis a 1-0 lead in the 6th min of play. Top goalscorer Bura Inceler then brought the scoreline level in the 14th min, tapping the ball into the back of the net from close range following a goalmouth scramble. Satnam then scored his second of the game emulating his first effort in the 19th min to give Armanis a 2-1 lead. It was 3-1 by the 32nd min thanks to Sunny who tapped in a low cross from the right flank. HT 3-1. The second half was a carbon copy of the first with Armanis always threatening on the counter. Sunny made it 4-1 in the 54th min before Bura pulled another goal back for USSR 10 mins before time with a clinical finish from inside the penalty box.

    Over at West Spring Secondary, Whinning 11 moved up to third spot with a dominant 4-0 win over Tsubasa FC. Having lost their previous two games, Whinning 11 were in dire need of a win and responded with a gut wrenching performance. Two goals by Wei Kang and another from Zhong Zheng gave Whinning 11 a comfortable 3-0 lead going into the break. Rixian then put the game past Tsubasa FC in the 54th min with a clinical finish. The result sees Tsubasa suffer their first defeat of the season sending them into the relegation zone. Something their opponents will not be ‘Whinning’ about.

  • Week 4: Stallions beat Armanis to go top!

    Stallions United moved to the top of the Div 3 table beating league leaders Armanis FC 5-2 at the Khalsa Premier Pitch. But it was Armanis that took the lead in this tie through Teren in the 9th min of play when he was put through on goal following some fine build-up play. Yeoh Han Joo then gave the Stallions a 2-1 lead scoring two goals with the first courtesy of a long range effort from outside the box. Hat-trick hero Mohd Norshahid took over from there scoring three goals in succession giving the Stallions a 5-1 lead. Kanan’s solo effort in the 73rd min brought the scoreline to 5-2 and served as a consolation for Armanis as the Stallions held on for the win.
    Looks like it’s going to take some serious horse-power to beat these guys.

    Social footballing fans were given a treat at the Khalsa Premier Pitch as Whinning 11 and USSR Utd played to a pulsating 5-4 scoreline with the Russians earning their second victory of the season. Clinical long range efforts separated both sides at half time with the Russians leading 3-1 thanks to Inceler Bugrahan aka Bugra, Leo and Gavrilov Konstantin. Whinning 11 brought the scoreline to 3-2 seven mins after the break when Kejang calmly slotted the ball past the goalkeeper after he was put through on goal. But that was quickly cancelled out by Bugra’s superb volley from 30 yards out sending the Russian bench into a frenzy! Kosta then made it 5-2 in the 74th min capitalizing on a ball that was fumbled by the opposing goalkeeper. LATE DRAMA- a red card for each team bundled with Man of the Match, Wei Kang’s looping header in the 75th min brought the scoreline to 5-3 before Rixian made it 5-4 thanks to a penalty with a min left to play. The win sees the Russians climb to 3rd spot.

    With both teams coming off defeats, Maestro FC and Stallionz FC were desperate to get their seasons back on track this week when the two teams met at Ang Mo Kio Secondary. Lim Jinde gave Maestro the lead in this tie when he clinically put away his penalty in the 9th min following a careless challenge in the box. HT 1-0. Twelve mins from time, Stallionz FC headed home a corner kick earning them a vital draw and also their first point of the season.

  • Week 3: Russians secure first win of the season!

    Having narrowly lost their first two games of the season, USSR Utd finally garnered their first win against comeback kings Maestro FC. An own goal in the 61st min gave the Russians a 1-0 lead before Abhikesh Rai aka ‘Keshy’ made it 2-0 after he clinically tucked away a penalty following a careless challenge in the box. Benjamin Dumke then sent the Russian bench into a frenzy when he beat the keeper from close range in the 71st min. Known for amazing comebacks, Maestro pulled a goal back in the 76th min through Joel Lau’s solo effort which saw him beat one defender before placing the ball into the back of the net. The Russian’s ‘Ivan Drago’ fighting sprit prevailed at the end of the day as they valiantly held on for their first win of the season. Where’s Rocky ‘Rong An’ when you need him?

    This week saw the battle of the Stallions/z where the Stallions prevailed 4-1 winners. Hanjoo opened the scoring in this tie for the Stallions in the 13th min when he latched onto a through ball before driving his shot into the bottom left hand corner of goal. HT 1-0. Shahid then made it 2-0 in the 64th min before Rijuan pulled a goal back for the Stallionz bringing the scoreline to 2-1. The Stallions then further extended their lead through Rasul who sent his header past the outstretched keeper in the 75th min. Seconds from the final whistle, Hanjoo sealed the nail in the coffin scoring his second of the game with a simple tap in from close range.

    Armanis FC maintained their lead at the top of the table with a dominant 4-1 win over Whinning 11 at the Khalsa Premier Pitch. Both teams were at it the moment that match kicked-off before Dave gave the home side the lead through a well placed free kick in the 19th min. HT 1-0. A mistake by the opposing goalkeeper in the 49th min saw Sunny heading the ball into the back of the net following a scramble at the goalmouth. Seng managed to pull a goal back for Whinning 11 in the 56th min but that was soon cancelled out by Teren who capitalised on another mistake by the Whinning goalkeeper in the 70th min. Five mins from time, Teren scored his second of the game sealing the win for Armanis when he was put through on goal with only the keeper to beat.

    Following their 2-2 draw with Maestro FC last week, Tsubasa FC secured their first win of the season beating Collabo FC 5-2. Tsubasa were cruising from kick-off and went into half-time with a comfortable 4-0 lead. Collabo came out of the break all guns blazing and managed to pull two goals back in the second half through Muhd Shaffiee and Muhammad Harry in a span of five mins. Tsubasa however held their nerves and held on for their first win thanks to goals from Xiao long, Yang Lixing, Wai Leong, Teo Jiahan and Cheng En.

  • Week 2: Armanis goes top after edging out Collabo FC in thirteen goal thriller!

    Comeback kings Maestro FC were at it again... this time against Tsubasa FC. Having gone down 2-0 by half time, thanks to a well taken penalty by Jiahan and an own goal, Maestro had their work cut out for them in the 2nd half. The match was a tale of two halves and the 2nd belonged to Maestro. Rong An deservedly pulled a goal back in the 52nd min when Maestro were awarded a penalty following a careless challenge in the box. He then dramatically added his second of the game in the 66th min with a fine solo effort securing his side’s first draw of the season.
    Final score: Maestro FC 2 Tsubasa FC 2

    Stallions FC got their season off to a winning start with a hard fought 5-3 win over USSR Utd. In a tale of two halves, the Russians put on a dominant display taking the lead in this tie thanks to Ali in the 3rd min. HT 1-0. Goals galore in the second half with the Russians further extending their lead in the 41st min when Ben latched onto a through ball and placed it into the back of the net. Han Joo then pulled a goal back for the Stallions when he sent his free kick into the roof of the net from 30 yards out. It was 2-2 just six mins later with Rasul converting his penalty following a reckless challenge in the box. Further goals from Han Joo, Adli and Nazrul saw the game take a drastic u-turn with the Stallions leading 5-2. Ali managed to pull a goal back for the Russians two mins from time but it served as a consolation as the Stallions held on for the win.

    Armanis FC moved to the top of the table following a thirteen goal thriller that saw them emerge 8-5 winners at the Khalsa Premier Pitch. A defensive error in the 3rd min of play saw Collabo take a 1-0 lead before Armanis went on a rampage, scoring three goals before the break with the second coming in the form of a majestic 30 yard effort. HT 3-1. Armanis further extended their lead a min into the second half following a darting run through the Collabo defence before finishing off from close range. This was followed by a frenzy of goals from both sides with Armanis emerging 8-5 winners. Special mention for the Armanis goalkeeper who made some world class saves during the course of the game to maintain his sides’ lead.

  • Week 1: Maestro, Whinning 11 and Armanis get their season off to winning starts!

    Division 3 of the Sunday Premier League got off to a rocking start with closely fought encounters all around. Over at Coral Secondary School, Maestro FC emerged 2-1 winners in their tie against Collabo FC. Kartik opened the scoring in this tie when his free kick took a huge deflection off the defending wall sending the goalkeeper in the wrong direction in the 21st min. HT 1-0. Although Acap pulled a goal back for Collabo three mins from time, a dramatic last min winner from Rong An saw his side take home all three points.
    Final score: Maestro FC 2 Collabo FC 1

    A first time volley by Jumain and a free kick from Wei Kang saw Whinning 11 take a 2-0 lead against USSR Utd at the Khalsa Premier Pitch by the 25th min. Javis must have been ruing his missed attempt when Whinning 11 were awarded a penalty in the 34th min. The Russians pulled a goal back just two mins later thanks to Bugra who capitalised on a defensive error before beating the goalkeeper who pretty much had all his angles covered. A min before half time, a bad pass by the Russians saw Rixian making a run down the right flank before beating two defenders and blasting the ball into the back of the net. HT 3-1. Whinning 11 then further extended their lead thanks to Bani in the 64th min. A great free kick saw Ali controlling the ball with a Zidane like touch before rocketing his shot into the back of the net to bring the scoreline to 4-2.

    Hat-trick hero Sunny was the star in Armanis’s pulsating 3-2 win over Stallionz FC. But it was the home side that dramatically took the lead in this tie in the 9th min thanks to a scorcher from Ganesh who rocketed his shot into the roof of the net from 35 yards out - potential Goal of the Season material. It was the Sunny show from then on with the striker heading the ball into goal four mins before half time. HT 1-1. After the break, Sunny netted his second with a fine effort from the edge of the penalty box in the 44th min. Pravin pulled a goal back from the Stallionz just a min later meeting a good through ball which was flicked over the goalkeeper. Sunny capped off his hat-trick in the 50th min scoring what was to be the decider when he was presented with a simple tap in front of goal. Too bad he won’t be bringing home the match ball.
