Sedap go top as FootPanda stun league leaders

Week 4 of Season 17 in the X-League Sunday Premier League delivered another compelling round of action in Division 3. There are eight teams in the division and six of the eight teams were in action this week, with results that have significantly reshaped the standings at the top. League leaders Bedok Reservoir Punggol CSN saw their three match winning streak come to an end after a narrow 1-0 defeat to FootPanda FC. The decisive moment came as early as the 5th minute when Noor Alif, also known as Aleep, found the back of the net with a clinical finish. Bedok Reservoir pushed forward in search of an equaliser and controlled large spells of the game, but FootPanda stood firm defensively to secure a crucial three points and hand the leaders their first defeat of the campaign. That result opened the door for Sedap FC, who seized the opportunity in style to climb to the top of the table. Sedap extended their perfect run to four wins from four with an entertaining 5-3 victory over Clementi FC in an eight goal thriller. Muhammad Ariiq, Sean Dias, Irfan Yusof, Saravanan Javahar, and Man of the Match Ryan Emmanuel Pereira were all on target in a fluid attacking display. Clementi showed attacking intent of their own, but Sedap’s cutting edge in the final third proved the difference as they took control of the summit. In the final fixture of the week, FC Vastatores and Triple C FC shared the spoils in a hard fought 2-2 draw. Alphonse Tock gave Vastatores the lead in the 15th minute and they carried that advantage into the break. The game sprang to life in the second half as Man of the Match Kerwin Cheng levelled for Triple C in the 48th minute. Vastatores regained the lead almost immediately through an own goal, but Triple C responded with resilience as Noel Chua struck in the 60th minute to ensure both sides walked away with a point. A special mention goes to Azhar Nurafiq for his standout performance. With the title race heating up, Sedap FC now lead the pack while the chasing teams continue to apply pressure in what is shaping up to be a thrilling Division 3 campaign.
