RTSBFC CLOSE THE GAP WITH STATEMENT WIN OVER LEADERS DRUZHBA

Week 12 of the Sunday Premier League featured just one Division 1 fixture, with two of the eight teams in action. But it was a blockbuster encounter as league leaders Druzhba United faced title contenders RTSBFC in a clash that could prove decisive in the race for the championship. RTSBFC came into the match with unfinished business, having narrowly missed out on last season’s title on goal difference despite finishing level on points with champions Saturday Nights Live. Druzhba United, meanwhile, have been one of the standout sides this season after earning promotion from Division 2, and they arrived at this contest sitting at the top of the table. With so much at stake, both sides approached the game with intensity and discipline. The first half was a tightly contested affair, with neither team able to break the deadlock. Druzhba pushed forward in search of a response, but RTSBFC remained compact and disciplined, closing down spaces and managing the game effectively. Despite their efforts, Druzhba were unable to find a way back into the contest. Stefan Stojcevski stood out with a strong individual display for Druzhba, while Hakim Idris and Matteus Poon impressed for RTSBFC with influential performances. The result sees RTSBFC climb up to third place in the standings, closing the gap on the top two and firmly inserting themselves into the title conversation as the season heads into its decisive stages.
