KAMIKAZE AND EZ UTD KEEP PERFECT RUNS AS SOUTHERN FLOWERS BREAK DUCK

Week 7 of the Sunday Premier League Season 17 delivered another action packed round in Division 2, with six out of the eight teams in action across three fixtures. With goals, momentum swings, and statement performances, the race at the top is beginning to heat up. At Clementi Town Secondary, Kamikaze MMXV made it three wins out of three with a commanding 5-1 victory over Laggau FC. They came flying out of the blocks and raced into a 3-0 lead within 25 minutes, courtesy of Jeevakumaran Balakrishnan, Surya Vijayan, and Ruban Bala. Laggau responded just before the break through Suaidi Maricar, but any hopes of a comeback were quickly shut down. Kamikaze controlled the second half and added two more goals through Mustaq Ahmad and a second from Surya Vijayan. The result keeps them firmly in second place and building serious momentum. League leaders EZ Utd FC matched that feat with their own third successive win, beating Pacey Blinders FC 4-1 at Woodlands Secondary. It was a tale of two halves as Pacey started brightly, taking the lead through Jerrell Chew before the break. EZ Utd responded with authority after the restart. Dinesh Ryan James levelled the score within three minutes, before Pravin Raj turned the game around. G. Sathyan extended the lead in the 56th minute, and an unfortunate own goal two minutes later sealed the win for EZ Utd. In the final game, Southern Flowers FC secured their first win of the season in style with a 4-1 triumph over Fajar Youngsters. Aldren Koh led the charge with two first half goals and a Man of the Match display. Darren Lim and Travis Ang added further goals after the break, while Faiq Sulaiman grabbed a late consolation for Fajar. With six of the eight teams featuring this week, the battle at both ends of the table is starting to take shape as the season gathers pace.
