Gators roar back as Sedap keep title race alive

Week 12 of Season 17 in the X-League Sunday Premier League delivered another exciting chapter in Division 3. There are eight teams in the division and four of the eight teams were in action this week, with two key fixtures impacting both ends of the table. The headline clash saw Triple X FC take on Bedok Reservoir Punggol CSN at Woodlands Secondary School. Triple X came into the game in red hot form, having scored 19 goals in their last three matches. Bedok Reservoir, however, had other ideas as they produced a commanding performance to bounce back in style. Man of the Match Bryan Sim stole the show with a sensational hat-trick from midfield, dictating play and driving his team forward. He struck twice in the first half to give Bedok Reservoir a 2-0 lead at the break before completing his hat-trick in the second half to put the result beyond doubt. Muhammad Mudrik added a fourth to cap off a dominant 4-0 victory. It was a statement performance from the Gators, who showed they remain a serious force in the title race. In the second fixture, Sedap FC edged past FootPanda FC with a hard fought 2-1 win to keep the pressure on league leaders FC Vastatores. FootPanda made the brighter start and took the lead early through Edward Morgan Jones in the 6th minute. Sedap responded almost immediately as Saravanan Javahar equalised just two minutes later. The game settled into a competitive rhythm with both sides creating chances, but it was Sedap who found the decisive moment. Sean Dias struck in the 67th minute with a well taken finish to complete the turnaround and secure all three points. Man of the Match Kun Ashraf delivered a strong all round performance, while Ibad Khalid stood out for FootPanda FC. The results see Bedok Reservoir Punggol CSN reassert themselves in the standings, while Sedap FC close the gap on the leaders to keep the title race very much alive.
