DRUZHBA MAINTAIN PERFECT START AS GOALFEST AND STALEMATE ROUND OFF ACTION

Week 7 of the Sunday Premier League saw six of the eight Division 1 teams in action across three entertaining fixtures. With the season gathering pace, the race at the top continues to heat up while the chasing pack look to close the gap. League leaders Druzhba United continued their flawless run, making it four wins from four with a confident 3–1 victory over That Team. The in-form Cheikh Boukal Ahmed, also known as Bassem, once again stole the headlines, netting twice to extend his lead as the division’s top scorer. Veteran striker Pavel Volkov also got on the scoresheet, adding further gloss to a composed Druzhba performance. Thaddeus Aurelius managed to pull one back for That Team, but they remain without a point this season and will be searching for answers in the weeks ahead. At Woodlands Secondary School, fans were treated to a remarkable 10-goal thriller as Chin FC and Seletar Celtic played out a pulsating 5–5 draw. The match had everything, including early drama as Chin were reduced to 10 men in the 25th minute following L. R. Mawia’s red card. Despite the setback, Chin showed tremendous resilience, with Tha Nei Mang and Thang Hlei Sum leading the charge, the latter grabbing a brace. Seletar Celtic responded in kind, with Abdul Kareem scoring twice and Raja Rishan delivering an influential performance in midfield. Both sides traded goals in a breathless encounter that kept spectators on the edge of their seats until the final whistle. In the final fixture of the week, Rulang FC and Bukit Timah AS shared the spoils in a tightly contested 1–1 draw. Darwys Bhari gave Rulang an early lead in the 12th minute before Edga Ian Cook responded just three minutes later. Despite chances at both ends, neither side could find a winner in a game defined by disciplined defending after a lively start.
