Clementi break duck in dominant display against Elitez

Week 10 of Season 17 in the X-League Sunday Premier League saw a single fixture take centre stage in Division 3. There are eight teams in the division and only two of the eight teams were in action this week, as two sides at the foot of the table went head to head in search of their first points of the campaign. Both Clementi FC and FC Elitez came into this clash still without a win or a point this season, making this a crucial encounter for both sides at Clementi Town Secondary School. The first half was a tightly contested affair with both teams showing urgency and intent. Chances were limited as both defences held firm, and it looked as though the sides would head into the break level. However, in the final minute of the half, Mohammad Rizzwan produced a moment of quality to fire Clementi FC into a 1-0 lead, giving his side a crucial advantage heading into the interval. FC Elitez came out in the second half looking to respond, but Clementi seized control early. Raffiee Zainal doubled the lead just three minutes after the restart with a clinical finish before adding his second of the game in the 57th minute to make it 3-0. The momentum was firmly with Clementi, and they continued to press forward with confidence. Naim Nasir extended the lead to 4-0 in the 64th minute as Elitez struggled to cope with Clementi’s attacking intensity. Further goals from Amirul Hayat and Ferlanni Efendi capped off a dominant performance, with Clementi FC running out convincing 6-0 winners to secure their first victory of the season in emphatic fashion. Man of the Match Raffiee Zainal was instrumental with a brace and a commanding presence in attack, while Sabri Izzuddin put in a commendable shift for FC Elitez despite the result. The win provides Clementi FC with a much needed boost as they look to build momentum, while FC Elitez will continue their search for their first points of the season.
