Sunday Premier League Season 10 Division 3

  • Week 20: Team SC maintain pressure on title favourites Seletar Celtics as both sides record victories!

Just the 2 games this week in the PSB Academy Sunday Premier League Division 3 as Team SC face Le Vasta FC while West En Fuego have the unenviable task of going up against an in form Seletar Celtics side.

Anderson Secondary was the venue of what promised to be a cracker of a match as Team SC(2nd) went up against Le Vasta FC(3rd)! The form of Seletar Celtics means neither team could afford a loss here, only a win would do and with just 2 points separating the sides, this was going to be a really tight affair! The tactic was clear from both the teams on the day, just outscore your opponent! The term "attack is the best form of defense" was definitely made in reference to matches like this. It ended 7-4 to Team SC, they extend their lead over their opponents in the league table to 5 points! Team SC still have hopes for the title and were hoping for good news from Regent Secondary!

Our second match of the day saw Division 3 juggernauts Seletar Celtics go up against West En Fuego in what can be described as a David and Goliath contest! The hosts started the match on 1 point in the table while their opponents were on 36! It took no time for the Celtics to take control of this one as a controlled performance saw them take all 3 points. 5-1 it finished, Seletar maintain their 9 point lead at the top, can anyone stop them?

  • Week 19: Assumption move to within 3 points of Le Vasta

3 games here this week in the PSB Academy Sunday Premier League Division 3, the key match seeing first go up against second as Seletar Celtics hoped to make it 10 wins on the trot against title rivals Le Vasta FC!

It all started off with a bang this week over at Anderson Secondary at 11am, first placed Seletar Celtics who sat on 33 points, going up against their nearest rivals Le Vasta who were 8 points behind prior to kick off. Le Vasta knew they had to end Seletar's 9 match win streak in order to have any chance of fighting for the title, a loss would see them move 11 points behind, a huge number to make up considering Celtic's form! Le Vasta put on a hell of a performance but still couldn't find enough to end Seletar's immaculate form! It ended 6-4 to Seletar Celtics and as expected this one turned out to be feisty encounter, with 6 yellows and 1 red card being shown! That's 10 wins on the trot for the Celtics who now move 11 points clear at the top. We'll ask the question again, are they the Manchester City of the X- League?

Our second tie was also at Anderson Secondary as Team SC(3rd) took on Fallen Asteri(5th) in the 1pm kickoff! The visitors are just a point off the relegation zone but a win would see them climb to 4th while the hosts Team SC would climb over Le Vasta FC into second with a win, with so much on the line, this was always going to be a full blooded affair! It ended in favour of Team SC who fully capitalized on Fallen Asteri falling a man behind after a sending off to record an impressive 6-3 win! They now move into 2nd spot but are an immense 9 points behind leaders Seletar Celtics? Could Team SC maintain their form and push for the title? We'll just have to wait and see!

Our final game of the day took place at Regent Secondary as Assumption FC(4th) went up against West En Fuego(8th)! The visitors have been unlucky this season, they sit on one point and have lost most of their games by a single goal margin, while hosts Assumption who've had a decent season could see themselves close the gap to third spot with a win here today! West En Fuego started the game brightly, showing plenty of fight and determination but in the end the quality of the opposition proved too much for them! Assumption walked away with all 3 points in a hard fought 5-3 win!

  • Week 18: Seletar Celtics go marching on, Team SC their latest victims!

3 games here this week in the PSB Academy Sunday Premier League Division 3, league leaders Seletar Celtics were up against Team SC, Keppel Bay hosted Fallen Asteri and Al-Najm went up against Assumption FC.

In the 1 pm kickoff over at Marsiling Secondary, Keppel Bay(7th) hosted Fallen Asteri (4th) and with a whopping 11 points between the two sides, it was hard to see another other than a victory for Fallen Asteri here! The visitors are known for the formidable attack and that proved true again today as Keppel Bay just couldn't handle onslaught after onslaught! It ended 12-3 in favour of Fallen Asteri, the 3 points see them move onto 18 points while Keppel Bay remain in 7th!

We're off to Ang Mo Kio secondary next, another 1 pm kickoff, as Al-Najm were looking to avenge back to back defeats against the Seletar Celtics! They faced Assumption FC who were on 15 points, just 2 points ahead of their opponents today. Judging by the league table, this was always going to be a tight encounter and that's exactly how it turned out. It ended 3-3 in an evenly matched affair, both side's just couldn't find the breakthrough this time around! The point is no good however to both sides who remain in their respective positions!

The final game of the week, another 1 pm kickoff, this time over at Anderson Secondary saw high flyers Seletar Celtics (1st) go up against Team SC(3rd)! Both sides have shown the ability to score goals this season so this one promised to serve up plenty of goalmouth action! Seletar Celtics were looking for their 9th win in a row, while Team SC wanted to close the 9 point gap on their opponents. A fine Hat trick for Team SC's Ryan Fadlie wasn't enough to stop the juggernauts of Seletar Celtic as they ended up 5-3 winners! The Celtics now have a commanding 8 point gap at the top, all stemming from their sensational 9 match win streak! Amazing stuff

Only two games in the PSB Academy Sunday Premier League this week here in Division 3, league leaders Seletar Celtics were up against Keppel Bay FC while Le Vasta were due to go head to head with Team SC!

Anderson Secondary was the venue for our first match as Seletar Celtics, who were on an amazing 8 game win streak, face Keppel Bay FC! The visitors haven't had the best of seasons, they sit in the relegation zone in 7th position with just 7 points! Could they cause one of the upsets of the season here today? Seletar started the game strongly as they always do with their attack causes all sorts of problems for the Keppel Bay rearguard! That pressure told in the end as the Celtics walked away with a 7-0 win! That's their 9th win in a row, the 3 points see them maintain ther 5 point lead at the top of the table! Will anyone be able to stop them?!

The second game was due to cancelled as Team SC could not make it due to unforeseen circumstances! That gave Le Vasta a vital 3 points which push them closer to the Seletar Celtics! The inevitable meeting between the two sides may very well decide who ends up with the title!

  • Week 16: Seletar Celtics record 8th win and now extend their lead at the top to 5 points!

3 games were on offer in the PSB Academy Sunday Premier League this week here in Division 3 with the biggest featuring a rematch between Seletar Celtics and Al-Najm, a match which saw 7 yellow cards and a red in the last week!

The first match was a 1pm kickoff over at Mayflower Secondary as Assumption FC went toe to toe with Team SC! With just 3 points separating the two sides, we were hoping for plenty of goals in this one, and they didn't disappoint! A fiery encounter saw a player from each team get shown the red card but it was Team SC's Ryan Fadlie proving to be the difference maker as he scored a hat trick in a 5-3 victory! Shakir Firas and Syafeeq Hammady grabbed a goal each as well in a win, which moved them onto 21 points, just 1 point off second placed Le Vasta FC!

Our next match saw Fallen Asteri take on West En Fuego over at Anderson Secondary. The visitors have every right to feel hard done by this season, they are 8th on the table with only a point but in the majority of their matches they've lost by the odd goal, a win today could change all that! It was a tight game from start to finish but West En Fuego ended up as the losing side by a goal yet again as they lost 5-4. Goals from Boon Hong, Lutfie Zaini(2), Syaffiq and Jefferi Jaafar were enough on the day to push Fallen Asteri onto 18 points, they're now in 4th!

Our final match of the weekend saw a replay of a heated clash just a week before as Al-Najm and Seletar Celtics faced each other once again! The previous encounter ended 4-3 to the Celtics could Al-Najm get their revenge this time around? As expected this was a battle right from kickoff but unlike the previous encounter, there were red cards today! Seletar Celtics once again proved that they are just too strong for Al-Najm! They ran out 6-3 winners, stretching their winning run to an amazing 8 games and with a 5 point gap at the top, are they the Manchester City of the X-League?

  • Week 15: Seletar Celtics climb to the top of Divison 3 with 7th win in a row!

3 games were on offer in the PSB Academy Sunday Premier League and with potentially a new league leader by the end of the day, Week 15 promised plenty of thrills and spills!

The first match kicked off at 1pm over at Anderson Secondary with West En Fuego hosting Team SC! The two clubs were separated by 20 points on the table with Team SC sitting in joint 3rd while West En Fuego were rooted to the bottom of the table on just 1 point. Everyone was expecting an easy victory for Team SC but this what anything but! West En Fuego showed plenty of character and bravery but all their effort was not enough! They lost 4-3 a brace from Syed Akim and Ryan Fadlie giving Team SC all 3 point is an extremely close encounter! West En Fuego remains bottom but can take huge credit for their performance today!

Over to Mayflower Secondary now where two inform sides were due to meet, Seletar Celtic and Al-Najm! The Celtics come into this one full of confidence, they have won their previous 6 matches in the competition, while Al-Najm were in decent form themselves, they came into this match on the back of a 2 match winning streak and were hoping to make it 3 from 3 today! Both teams started the game aggressively with neither side willing to accept anything other than a victory. A total of 7 yellow cards and 1 red was shown in this feisty encounter. Seletar Celtics however were too good and continued their fine run by narrowly defeating their stubborn opponents 4-3! The 3 points see them climb up to first while having a 2-point cushion over 2nd placed Le Vasta!

Last but certainly not least, we head back to Anderson Secondary as the 3pm kickoff saw Fallen Asteri host Assumption FC! The home side sat in 6th position while the visitors were in 4th, but with only 3 points separating the teams there was plenty to play for here today! A man of the match performance from Darius of Fallen Asteri led his team to a 5-2 victory over Assumption. Goals from Luthfie Zaini, Darius, Jefferi Jaafar (2) and Imam were enough to see their team move into 4th, leapfrogging their opponents!

  • Week 14: The Seletar FC run continues as they cruise past Team SC to make it 6 from 6!

4 games were on offer in the PSB Academy Sunday Premier League with all 8 participating teams having a fixture this weekend!

The first match kicked off at 1pm over at Ang Mo Kio Secondary and saw league leaders Le Vasta FC going up against Al-Najm. Le Vasta had a commanding 4 point lead at the top prior to kickoff but they knew they were facing a dangerous side in Al-Najm, especially considering their 13-1 victory over Keppel Bay last weekend! The visitors proved to be tricky opposition indeed with Muhd Faiz proving to be a thorn in Le Vasta's side! Two goals from Noh Shukor, one from Muhd Faiz and another for Wan Shah were enough to hand Al-Najm a 4-3 victory over the league leaders. Tahqeem has a great game for Le Vasta but it wasn't enough this week!

We head to Ang Mo Kio Secondary for our next match as Seletar Celtics (2nd) hosted Team SC (3rd)! With just 3 points separating the sides, neither team could afford to slip up, there was an added incentive as well with Le Vasta losing, both these teams could close the gap at the top! Seletar who were on a five match win streak started the game well and looked in control for most periods although Team SC did have their chances! The game ended 5-1 to the Seletar Celtics who take their winning streak to 6 games! Shafeeq Hammaady got the consolation goal for Team SC, who remain on 15 points!

The next tie saw Fallen Asteri taking on Keppel Bay over at Anderson Secondary. It was a tie that saw 6th (Asteri) going up against 7th (Keppel) and with only two points separating the sides this was always going to tightly contested encounter! It was the hosts Asteri however who started positively and looked a side in decent form having won their last 2 matches! Jefferi Jaafar (3 Goals) and Luthfie Zaini (2 Goals) again proving to be the difference makers for Asteri! It ended 5-2 to the hosts who move onto 12 points, they're now just 3 points off 3rd spot!

Our final game of the weekend took place at Unity Secondary where bottom placed West En Fuego went up against 4th placed Assumption FC. West En Fuego had up to this point only managed to chalk up 1 point in the league while Assumption have had a decent so far accumulating 12 points! The game was even up until an inspired 20 minutes for Assumption FC! Goals from Edison, Zayden Lu, Sean Lee and a guest player proved too much to handle for West En Fuego. The game ended 4-2 to Assumption who jump to joint 3rd in the league while West En Fuego remain on just 1 point this season!

  • Week 13: Seletar Celtic make it 6 wins in a row and are now just 4 points away from Le Vasta!

Week 13 of the PSB Academy Sunday Premier League saw 3 matches taking place over the weekend in what's turning out to be a very interesting season here in Division 3!

The first match of the day saw two of the league's bottom sides go head to head over at Mayflower Secondary School as West En Fuego hosted Fallen Asteri! Both side's haven't started the season as they'd have liked but this was an opportunity for them to make it right. As expected the game was played at a very high tempo despite the 1pm heat with both teams creating an abundance of goal scoring chances! It was the away side however that came out on top in the end, they emerged 5-4 victors with Luthfie Zaini grabbing 4 and Jefferi Jaafar on the scoresheet! The win see's them move up to sixth while West En Fuego remain rooted to the bottom!

Onto the 3pm Kickoff at Unity Secondary where Assumption FC had the unenviable task of facing an in form Seletar Celtic side! The visitors have been outstanding this season recording 5 wins from 5, Assumption were looking to end that run and go even on points with a win! Assumption put on a brave fight but the attacking quality from Seletar Celtics proved too much. An outstanding performance by Sean Lee wasn't enough to prevent a 3-0 loss to the Celtics! They now move onto 18 points, that's 6 wins from 6!

The final game took place at Bedok Green Secondary and saw Al-Najm go up against Keppel Bay FC! This one was expected to be a close encounter as both sides were on 7 points prior to kickoff, needing a win to push them up the table! Al Najm started the game on the right foot and never looked back! The home side were absolutely clinical in front of goal and huge credit for that goes to Ahmad Firdaus and Muhammad Faiz who got 5 and 6 goals on the day respectively (Salah only got 4)! It finished and incredible 13-1 on the day and a win that see's Al-Najm end the day on 10 points!

  • Week 12: Fallen Asteri and Seletar Celtic win big in Week 12!

Week 12 of the PSB Academy Sunday Premier League Division 3 saw 4 matches being contested.

Al Najm hosted Fallen Asteri in the first game of the day at Marsiling Secondary School. Both sides suffered disappointing defeats in Week 11 and were looking to bounce to winning ways. And it was Fallen Asteri that was the dominant side in this encounter as they had the majority of the possession and created the better chances in front of goal. Despite conceding a goal by Al Najm's Aiz, Fallen Asteri replied thru goals from Luthfie (3), Jefferi (3) and Imam. Fallen Asteri held on to win 7-1 and collected a precious 3 points on the road.

In another game held at the same time, Seletar Celtic faced West En Fuego FC at Ang Mo Kio Secondary School. While Seletar Celtic were victorious in Week 11, West En Fuego suffered a narrow defeat against Le Vasta. It was no surprise that Seletar Celtic came out full of confidence in the game and controlled the match proceedings. They deservedly went ahead and never looked back. West En Fuego managed to net a goal for themselves but were unable to stop their opponents from running riot in front of their goal. Seletar Celtic ended the game with 9 goals as they swept aside their hapless opponents by the score of 9-1.

Le Vasta FC went head to head against Assumption FC at Unity Secondary School. Both teams were going into the contest full of confidence after registering wins in Week 11. It was the hosts that started the brighter of the two sides and controlled the majority of the game. Deservedly they went ahead in the 25th minute thru an effort from Robi and never looked troubled in the contest. Assumption tried their best to get back into the game but were unable to match the attacking prowess of the Le Vasta forward line. Fendi and a guest player added further goals for the hosts as they ran out comfortable 3-0 winners and picked up a second consecutive victory in the league.

Over at Bedok Green Secondary School, Keppel Bay FC and Team SC met in a rematch of the Week 4 encounter where Team SC won convincingly by the score of 4-1. Both sides were determined in getting a positive result from the tie as they put together several penetrating moves into their opponents' penalty areas in search of the elusive goal. Keppel managed to score 2 goals against the run of play and were hanging on to their advantage before Team SC mounted a fightback. Goals from Asyraf Amran, Ryan Fadlie, Syed Akim and Raihan Zainal enabled the visitors to gain the lead and record a deserving victory at the expense of the unlucky Keppel Bay team. Final score : Keppel Bay FC 2 - 4 Team SC.

  • Week 11: Flurry of goals on a full Matchday 11!

After an eventless Matchday 10, it was a full fixture list in Week 11 as 4 matches took place across the island.

The first game was at Marsiling Secondary School as Fallen Asteri hosted Seletar Celtic. In the first meeting of the two new sides to the X-League, it was the visitors who started the brighter of the two teams and went on to control the game. Despite a Man-of-the-Match performance by the Fallen Asteri's Luthfie, the hosts were unable to stop marauding attacks of the Seletar forwards. Seletar Celtic banged in 5 goals without reply to register a comfortable 5-0 away victory.

Over at Unity Secondary School, West En Fuego FC took on Le Vasta FC in the 3pm kick-off. Both sides clashed earlier in Week 5 with Le Vasta winning by 4 goals to 2. And they had a brilliant opening 10 minutes to game when they raced to a 2 goal lead courtesy of strikes from Yousoff and Mimi. Not to be outdone, West En Fuego fought back to score several goals of their own. However it was to be Le Vasta's day as goals from Shai, Awan and Yousoff again ensure that the visitors left the field with a slim 5-4 win and all 3 points in the bag.
In another match at Anderson Secondary School, Assumption FC faced Keppel Bay FC in a rematch of Matchday 2. This encounter proved to mirror the earlier match-up as Asssumption once again ruled the roost against their inexperienced opponents. A hat-trick from Chen Junlin and goals from Nicholas Lee aka Drunken Wolf (2), Pryor Goh and Sean Lee guaranteed all 3 points for Assumption as they ran out comfortable 7-2 winners.

The final game of the day was between Team SC and Al Najm at Bedok Green Secondary School. Both sides have crossed each other's paths back on Matchday 5 and it was Team SC who were victorious on that day. Seeking to exact revenge for the earlier loss, Al Najm took the game to Team SC and the game was an open contest. Both sides traded chances in front of goal and were able to score several times in the match. While Andri and Hidayat (2) netted for Al Najm, goals from Ahmad Zulfadhli, Syafeeq Hammaady and a hat-trick from Ryan Fadlie tipped the match in Team SC's favor as won the game by 5 goals to 3 and did the double over their hapless opponents.

  • Week 9: Le Vasta nick the 3 points over Fallen Asteri!

The only game of Match day 9 in the PSB Academy Sunday Premier League Division 3 saw Le Vasta FC facing up to Fallen Asteri at Marsiling Secondary School. The 1pm kick-off between the 2 new teams to the X-League was a tight contest. Both clubs started cautiously and chances were few and far between. Fallen Asteri got the breakthrough and held the lead till the 19th minute when Faizal struck to equalize for Le Vasta as both sides went into the interval on level terms. It was a similar affair after the break and it took a fine finish by Obek in the 75th minute to settle the contest and allowed Le Vasta to pick up the precious 3 points to end the year with a 2-1 victory.

  • Week 8: Team SC triumph over West En Fuego in high-scoring game!

Team SC and West En Fuego FC were the only teams in action in the PSB Academy Sunday Premier League Division 3 as Match day 8 saw only 1 match taking place.

The game was held at Mayflower Secondary School and it was a battle between 2 league newcomers who have been experiencing contrasting fortunes in their debut X-League season. While Team SC has been raking in the points with several wins under their belt, West En Fuego's record in the league has been pretty dismal. And it was no wonder that the home side started the game the brighter of the 2 teams. From their forays into the opponent's penalty area, they struck the back of the net with efforts from Ryan Fadlie (3), Raihan Zainal (3), Syed Akim (2) and Arif Rezawan. West En Fuego managed to strike back with 5 goals of their own but was unable to draw level and the game ended in favour of Team SC by the score of 9 goals to 5.

  • Week 7: Le Vasta and Seletar ease to victory while West En Fuego fight back for a point!

Match day 7 in the PSB Academy Sunday Premier League Division 3 saw 3 games taking place over the weekend.

Assumption FC hosted Le Vasta FC at Coral Secondary School hoping to inflict another defeat on to the newly joined X-League side. The visitors on the other hand had other ideas and surprisingly took the lead with a clinical finish from Yusoff. The striker would add a second in the 13th minute to give his side a 2-0 lead. Assumption was not to be outdone and Nicholas Lee aka Drunken Wolf struck a goal back. The half ended 3-1 in favour of the hosts after Zul scored Le Vasta's third of the game. The second half proved to be a back and forth affair as both sides took turns to strike the back of their opponents' goal. Remi Lim and Sean Lee scored 2 more goals for the hosts while Haziq netted his side's 4th before Yusoff scored his hat-trick to end the scoring in the 74th minute. Final score was 7-4 in favour of Le Vasta FC.

Keppel Bay FC welcomed Seletar Celtic to Anderson Secondary School for a match-up between 2 big winners from Match day 6. Having scored 12 goals between themselves the previous weekend, spectators were bracing themselves for another goal fest. And they were not disappointed as both sides displayed an open attacking style of play and created plenty of goalmouth chances. Seletar were more lethal in front of goal and they struck 7 times as compared to Keppel's 3. It finished 7-3 in favour of Seletar Celtic as the league newcomer picked up a 3rd consecutive victory in the league.

Another contest featured Al-Najm and West En Fuego FC at Marsiling Secondary School. While Al-Najm was victorious in their match the previous weekend, West En Fuego suffered a drubbing against Keppel Bay in their Match day 6 match. However the match was not smooth sailing for the Al-Najm side as West En Fuego upped their game and matched the home side stride for stride throughout the contest. Both teams created chances and both sides managed to strike the back of their opponents' goal. In the end, there was nothing to separate the 2 sides and both teams had to settle for a 2-2 draw and share the points.

  • Week 6: Matchday 6 sees a glut of goals scored!

It was a full fixture list in Week 6 of the PSB Academy Sunday Premier League Division 3 as 4 games took place.

Team SC hosted Assumption FC at Coral Secondary School hoping to continue their winning ways in the league. Asssumption, still smarting from an unfortunate loss against Seletar Celtic the previous weekend, got the early breakthrough thru an effort from Sean Lee in the 15th minute. It was one way traffic from then on as the visitors added further goals from Oliver Brandwood (2), KitakIta Akira and Nicholas Lee aka Drunken Wolf. Despite scoring twice thru Syed Akim and their opponent's having a player red-carded, Team SC were unable to avoid going down to their first league defeat of the season by 5 goals to 2.

Over at Ang Mo Kio Secondary School, two league newboys met for the first time this season as Fallen Asteri faced Al-Najm. Both sides have been inconsistent in the league thus far and it was no surprise that the match swung both sides through out the contest. Al-Najm struck the back of the Fallen goal with strikes from Fir (2), Wan Shah, Aiz and Hidayat. The hosts were unable to reduce the deficit as they went down with scoreline of 5-1.

In another match up between 2 teams new to the X-League, West En Fuego FC took on Keppel Bay FC at Mayflower Secondary School. It was Keppel Bay who took control of the game from the very first whistle as they created the better opportunities and pinned their opponents in their own half for most of the game. Goals from Man-of-the-Match Hafiz Abdul Rahim (4), Shazwan Sidek, Faizal Ibrahim and Saifuddin Abdul Samad settled the tie in favor of the visiting team as Keppel ran out comfortable 7-1 winners.

The final match featured Seletar Celtic coming up against Le Vasta FC at Anderson Secondary School. Both teams enjoyed fine victories on Matchday 5 and were going into the game with full confidence. In spite of Le Vasta having much of the possession in the early parts of the game, Seletar grew in confidence as the match progressed and soon wrestled control of the tie. They struck the back of the Le Vasta net 5 times to register an easy 5-0 win over their fellow league newcomer.

  • Week 5: Week 5 sees the rise of the league new boys!

Week 5 of the PSB Academy Sunday Premier League saw 3 matches taking place in Division 3.

League newcomer Seletar Celtic were playing their first match in the X-league against experienced side Assumption FC. Seletar took awhile to get up to speed with the pace of the game but grew in confidence after scoring the first goal of the match. Soon, they scored their 2nd and 3rd goals as Assumption struggled to deal with their offensive play. Zayden Lu and Chen Junlin managed to narrow the deficit for Assumption late into the contest but it remained 3-2 in favor of the hosts as Seletar recorded their first ever win in the X-League.

Over at Sembawang Secondary School, Le Vasta FC faced fellow newboy West End Fuego FC in a first meeting of the season between the 2 teams. Having had a couple of games under their belt, the home side were clearly the more dominant side in the tie and they deservedly took the lead thru a strike by Yusoff. The Le Vasta hitman struck 2 more times to complete his hat-trick before half time. West En Fuego scored twice after the break before Ryan Sufiyan scored his side's 4th goal to bring the final score to 4-1 as Le Vasta picked up their 3rd victory of the current campaign.

Finally the last match of the day saw Al-Najm take on Team SC at Queensway Secondary School. Both teams enjoyed big wins on Matchday 4 and were confident of getting the 3 points in this game. It was a pretty even contest between the 2 sides and both managed to strike the back of the net several times. Mohamed scored twice for Al-Najm while Raihan Zainal, Syed Akim and Arif Rezawan replied for the visitors. It finished 3-2 in favor of Team SC as they won their 2nd game on the trot.

  • Week 4: Newboys record impressive wins in Week 4!

6 teams took to the field in Week 4 of the PSB Academy Sunday Premier League Division 3 as 3 matches took place over the weekend.

Assumption FC, who were big winners the previous weekend, faced another league newcomer Al-Najm at Naval Base Secondary School. In what proved to be shock, the league newboys went for the jugular and pinned their more experienced opponents back for the majority of the game. They scored with strikes from Wan Shah, Noh Shukor, Fir (2) and Aiz (2) give them a huge advantage in the match. Assumption's Nicholas Lee aka Drunken Wolf and Zayden Lu scored late in the contest to give some consolation to the home side but they were well and truly beaten by then. Final score: Assumption FC 2 -6 Al-Najm.

The second game saw the meeting of 2 league newcomers at Ping Yi Secondary School. Team SC were starting their first game of the season while this was Keppel Bay FC's fourth game on the trot. The continous run of games perhaps affected the visitors' play as the fresh Team SC took control of the match and created the better goal-scoring chances. Emman Shafiq, Syed Akim, Ryan Fadlie and Aniq Akmal took their chances and gave the hosts a 4 goal lead before Keppel Bayscored a late consolation. It ended 4-1 in favor of Team SC. " First game for Team SC and a hard fought win against one of the best team in the league. Kudos to Keppel Bay FC for a great performance" remarked a satisfied Team SC team manager after the game.

Finally, over at Sembawang Secondary School, Fallen Asteri and Le Vasta FC contested another league newcomer's match-up. Le Vasta was the stronger of the 2 sides and they displayed their supremacy by notching 6 goals thru Awan (4), Robi and Yul. Fallen Asteri had no answer to the attacking prowess of their opponent's forward line and went down to their second successive defeat in as many games. Final score: Fallen Asteri 1 - 6 Le Vasta FC.

  • Week 3: Keppel Bay and Assumption record huge home wins in Week 3!

Week 3 of the PSB Academy Sunday Premier League Division 3 season witnessed 2 matches taking place.

After a draw and a loss from their first 2 matches, Keppel Bay FC were hoping for better luck in their game against fellow league newcomer Al-Najm. They played with a specific game plan to stifle their opponent's game. Azfar Kamis, Shazwan Sidek, Firdaus Jeffery and Sulaiman Mustafa (2) put their side in the driving seat before Naim pulled one back for the visitors. It finished 5-1 in favour of Keppel Bay as they finally claimed that elusive first victory in the league. " It was a well deserved win for us but the only downside the red card to our player. The player will be dealt internally and ensure that the mistake won't be repeated in the future" said the Keppel Bay team manager.

The second match of the weekend was between Assumption FC and Fallen Asteri at Queensway Secondary School. Fresh from their opening day victory the previous weekend, Assumption were looking to add Fallen Asteri to their scalp. Being new to the league, the visitors took time to adapt to the pace of the game. This in turn allowed their more experienced opponents a free rein of the match proceedings. The goals started flowing for the home side as Zayden Lu (3), Sean Lee (2), Nicholas Lee aka Drunken Wolf (2), Pryor Goh, Benny Ang and Oliver Brandwood got on the scoresheet. The final score was Assumption FC 10 - 2 Fallen Asteri. "The scoreline didn't reflect well on the opponents or the game. They did well despite it being their first match," said the Assumption FC team manager after the game.

  • Week 2: Away comforts in Week 2 of Division 3!

Two matches were played on Week 2 of the new PSB Academy Sunday Premier League Division 3 season.

New boys Keppel Bay FC hosted Assumption FC at Queensway Secondary School hoping to do one better than the draw they had on the opening day of the season. The away side started the stronger of the 2 teams and closed down their opponents in every department in the 1st half. They deservedly went into the break in the lead with goals from Remi Lim and Pryor Goh. Keppel got a lifeline midway thru the second half after they were awarded a penalty, which was duly converted by skipper Saifuddin Abdul Samad. However for all their endevours they were unable to get the elusive equalizer and suffered a further setback when Sean Lee netted the 3rd goal for Assumption. "It's hard to digest the loss after an impressive 2nd half display, but we have to take it as a learning lesson and progress to our next match" said an upbeat Keppel team manager after the 3-1 defeat.

Over at Naval Base Secondary School, two newcomers to the league were facing each other for the first time. Al-Najm was hoping to get off to a winning start against a Le Vasta FC side that drew their first match of the campaign. Yusoff was the star man for Le Vasta as he contributed 2 goals and several assists for his team. Bobby and Awan got in on the act as well as they cancelled out goals from Al-Najm's Fir and Aiz (2). It ended 3-4 as Le Vasta picked up the precious away victory.
